Civic Leadership

Rotary International, Columbia, MO

Kiwanis Club of Downtown Knoxville, TN: President, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Youth Foundation Trustee and Delegate to International Convention. Was the official voting delegate to the 1996 Kiwanis International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah and to the Kentucky-Tennessee District Convention in Chattanooga, TN. Since 1990 have served as: Chairman of International Affairs, Builders Club and Fund-raising committees; Vice President(s) for Service and Administration, President-Elect and; Chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the Kiwanis Youth Foundation Trustees.

Youth Career Development Activities: Community Based

Presented numerous Career Awareness Workshops to American and International youth groups in Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, D.C., sponsored by such organizations as: the Presbyterian Church, the Baptist Church, Jack and Jill of America, The Links Incorporated, the Cooperative Extension Service, Rotary International, the Young Men’s Christian Association, the Ron McNair Program, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Mentor - Protégée Service in Organizationally Sponsored Arrangements

Devoted and contributed countless hours of volunteer service as a Youth Mentor over the recent 15 years for middle school, high school, undergraduate and university graduate students. Mentor-Protégée arrangements were sponsored by and with the Black Achievers’ Program, the College of Agriculture, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Rotary International, Kiwanis International, Optimist International, Boy Scouts of America, the University of Tennessee Minority Scholars program, the University Honors College, the Key Club, the Builders Club, and Minorities in Agricultural, Natural Resources and Related Sciences, the Education Advancement Program, the US Department of Agriculture, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.

Senior Citizens Service

Contributed countless hours as a volunteer in service to senior citizens through participation in the delivery of Meals on Wheels, walkathons sponsored to cure Altzhimers, visitations at Retirement Homes and individualized attention to neighborhood seniors.
